Again, the worst part of this Class Correspondent job raises its ugly head. Sadly we inform you of the passing of classmate Mattie (Eubanks) Joieck Blackwell...no relation to classmates Jim Blackwell and Barbara (Blackwell) Hendrickson...on 4/13/08. Below is the obituary as it appeared in today's Trenton papers.

Mattie Joeick Blackwell HAMILTON TOWNSHIP - Mattie Joeick Blackwell, 70, died peacefully Sunday at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton. Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong Trenton area resident. Mrs. Blackwell was employed by the State of New Jersey for 45 years, and retired in January, 2008 from the New Jersey Division of Aging, Health and Senior Services, Trenton. Daughter of the Thomas A. and Anna Mancak Eubanks, and wife of the late Jack Blackwell, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Frank III and Candice Joeick of Hamilton Township; two daughters and a son-in-law, Deborah and Gene Norton of Hamilton Square, and Catherine M. Joeick of Hamilton Township; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Mary Eubanks of Whiting; five grandchildren, Amber and Zackary Joeick, Eugene Norton III and his wife Jessica, and Matthew and Jason Norton; her former husband, Frank Joeick Jr. of Hamilton; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held 9:30 a.m. Thursday from the Brenna Funeral Home, 340 Hamilton Ave., Trenton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Raphael's Church, 3500 South Broad St., Hamilton. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Brenna Funeral Home.
